CASTRO'S 3,293,760,000,000 SOUL-HOURS OF TOTALITARIAN RULE

Just two days ago, Cuban vice Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez whined about the U.S. embargo on Cuba. According to the Cuban government figures—and we know how accurate those figures are—the embargo cost them over $4 billion last year. Among other things, these hypocrites complain about the loss of American tourist dollars. Sounds to me like poetic justice. Why any true democratic red-blooded Americans would want to contribute any money to the preservation of the Cuban economy and that repressive regime is beyond my understanding. The Cuban government would like to see the United States government and our people destroyed, the survivors living under the thumb of tyrants like Castro or of religious fanatics like the Taliban or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Make the connection. First premise: Castro loves Chávez and those things for which he stands. Second premise: Chávez loves Syria, Iran, North Korea, and anyone else who wants our downfall. First conclusion: Castro loves Syria, Iran, North Korea, and anyone else who wants our downfall. Second conclusion: Castro is our enemy. Third conclusion: helping the enemy is the same as treason.

These are the reasons the U.S. embargo on Cuba is a good idea, one tool we should use to overthrow that group of thugs keeping the Cuban people hostage. If it has not worked up to now, it is because we live in an immoral world. We have not had the cooperation necessary to break Castro’s back. For commercial or ideological reasons, too many countries do business with Cuba and help Castro stay in power. For fear of some kind of leftist retaliation, other states adopt a pathetic neutral position. The United Nations is a sewer. The rats are everywhere.

My question to those who want the United States to lift the embargo is, “Why do you not ask the Cuban government to lift its embargo on freedom and human rights?

Compare the overblown figure of $4 billion the U.S. embargo supposedly costs Cuba with this figure: 3,293,760,000,000 soul-hours of Castro’s totalitarian rule and counting. That is three trillion, two hundred and ninety three billion, seven hundred and sixty million soul hours. What are soul-hours? A soul-hour is the same as a man-hour, except the word "soul" emphasizes the fact we are talking about the suffering of women and children in addition to men.

3, 293,760,000,000 is a conservative figure. The first factor of the formula I used is the number of years Castro has been in power. It is over 47 years and nine months, but let us say just 47 years. The second factor is the number of days in a year, which is 365 days more or less. If we multiply 47 by 365, it gives us 17,155 days. The third factor is the number of hours in a day. If we multiply 24 hours by 17,155 days, it gives us 411,720 hours. The fourth factor is the number of people that inhabit the island of Cuba. Back in 1959, it was about 6 million. Today, I hear it is between 12 and 13 million. Midway between 6 million and 12 million is 9 million. Then, let us take off 1 million to account for those who support the government and do their dirty work. Thus, 9 million less 1 million equals 8 million. Finally, if we multiply 411,720 hours by the average of 8,000,000 people, it gives us the figure of 3,293,760,000 soul-hours the people of Cuba have suffered without freedom or human rights.

Let us see now, approximately, what last year and each additional year of communist rule in Cuba costs in terms of soul-hours.

FORMULA:

(# of years) X (# of days in a year) X (# of hours in a day) X (# of people) = total soul-hours

So, 1 year times 365 days times 24 hours times 11,000,000 people (12,000,000 less 1,000,000 to account for the criminals in positions of power and those who support them) = 96,360,000,000 soul-hours. Listen to how it sounds “Ninety six billion, three hundred and sixty million soul-hours every year the communist government in Cuba remains in power.”

Therefore, vice Foreign Minister Mr. Bruno Rodríguez, you do not impress me with your alleged $4 billion loss due to the U.S. embargo. If we assigned the paltry sum of $1 to each soul-hour, your embargo on the freedom and human rights of the Cuban people cost $96,360,000,000 last year. That is $92 billion more than your supposed loss. Tell that to your Comandante, whom I hope to see in Hell together with those who make his cruel rule possible.
